Aidan Kelly stammt aus Dublin und lebt im United Kingdom.
Es ist seine dritte Zusammenarbeit mit Jim Culleton und Fishamble; zuvor arbeiteten sie bereits gemeinsam an The Pride of Parnell Street (New York) und Inside the GPO (Dublin).
Aidan ist umfassend in Irland und Großbritannien tätig gewesen, unter anderem am Abbey Theatre, dem irischen Nationaltheater. Zu seinen Rollen zählen Macbeth, Mark Anton in Julius Caesar, Ernesto Roma in Der aufhaltsame Aufstieg des Arturo Ui, Howie Lee in Howie the Rookie, Austin in True West, Johnny in Juno and the Paycock, Jack in The Plough and the Stars sowie Don Mauro in Calixto Bieitos Inszenierung The Barbaric Comedies. Weitere Arbeiten in Irland umfassen A View from the Bridge (Gate Theatre) sowie The Playboy of the Western World und Long Day’s Journey into Night (Druid).
In Großbritannien spielte Aidan am National Theatre u. a. in Salome (Regie: Yael Farber), als Billy Bones in Treasure Island und als Teddy in The Silver Tassie (Regie: Howard Davies). Für die Royal Shakespeare Company war er unter anderem als Macbeth (Regie: Sir Michael Boyd), im Merchant of Venice (Regie: Rupert Goold) und als Ajax in Troilus and Cressida (Regie: Mark Ravenhill) zu sehen. Weitere Engagements führten ihn ans Donmar Warehouse (The Fear of 13, Regie: Justin Martin), an das Lyric Theatre (Soldat in Sarah Kanes Blasted, Olivier Award für Beste Produktion) sowie in die ursprüngliche West-End-Produktion von Once the Musical (Regie: John Tiffany).
Zu seinen jüngeren Fernsehrollen zählen Say Nothing (Disney), Stay Close (Netflix), Borderline (AMC), Warrior (Cinemax) und Killing Eve (BBC).
Außerdem ist er ein mehrfach ausgezeichneter Sprecher von über 100 Hörbüchern.
